Greek Week With DASH Dogs
Usual content is taking a pause this week as I ask you to join me in helping spread awareness and raise donations for DASH Dogs Rescue in Greece.
Katerina and her team of volunteers do an incredible job helping HUNDREDS of dogs stay safe, fed, and healthy at DASH before they find their forever homes.

How it all began.... 🐶💗
I am closely involved with a very special little charity over in Greece - DASH Dogs Rescue.
It was years ago now that this all happened, and we have 4 new greek doggies in our village, and many of you have so kindly given these pups in need a loving home 🙏🏼
With your help, we have been able to make a difference to so many lives at the shelter, but sadly the situation is never ending, and there are always new desperate souls who so badly need a helping hand.
DASH Dogs relies solely on donations, and remarkably, have managed to keep going over these years, despite the fact that donations have decreased since the pandemic and the resulting cost of living crisis, and there are even more dogs - hundreds and hundreds of them - so times are even tougher.
How can you help?
❤️ Donate - please visit the DASH Dogs website, and click the PayPal link. A regular monthly donation is more valuable than a one off large donation. Regular donations allow DASH Dogs to plan ahead!
❤️ Share - please share this blog post and my posts on social media pointing people towards my campaign so together we can help make a big difference. You never know - it only takes one person to see DASH Dogs to find their perfect dog, and adopt! We can’t change the world for all the dogs in Greece, but we can change the world for a single dog who can find their forever home.
❤️ Adopt - considering adopting a furry friend of your own? All dogs are thoroughly vetted and behaviourally checked, and can be with you in just a matter of weeks. Trust me it’s the most rewarding and heartwarming thing you will do.
❤️ Volunteer - lend a hand and come over to Greece yourself, or fundraise in your own way. Every single donation helps no matter how small!

I will never stop supporting DASH Dogs - every time I come here I am just in awe of Katerina who never gives up on an animal, never turns a dog away despite not having the resources to properly care for it, she always finds a way.
Hope is a very powerful thing - and it’s what keeps everyone here going. On paper, it’s utterly hopeless, with little money for food and medical care, and an endless stream of tortured souls... but, miraculously... they keep going... and it’s so important that they don’t feel alone ✨

Meet ‘Mr Dreadlock’...
...one of the many adorable pups here at DASH Dos Rescue in need of a loving home 🐶
Mr Dreadlock is possibly the biggest softy ever, gets on with cats, kids and other dogs and gets his name from the horrific state in which he was found.
His fur was so matted he was unrecognisable, and he didn’t even have the strength to stand.
Thank goodness for the wonderful team at DASH who have nursed him back to health - it really was touch and go, but miraculously, he has made a full recovery 🙏🏼
Now he’s super docile, super cuddly, and so deserving of a loving family he can call home 💗

Could you or anyone you know give Tsuvi a loving home? 🐶
Tsuvi is only around 3 and very gentle, excellent with kids, cats and other dogs 🐱🐶🧒
After the toughest start in life and used as a walking ashtray by his owner who also beat him and broke his jaw, DASH Dogs stepped in and nursed him back to full health.
He is a quiet fellow, having learned not to make a fuss even if he’s in great pain in the first few months of his life, and he just craves a warm bed, friendly lap and a bit of peace and quiet ✨
Don’t you think he deserves this?

Sweet, cuddly Spotty! 🐾
Spotty is about 2 years old and once had a loving home. She was kicked out onto the streets after falling pregnant - an all too familiar story - and faced being cruelly poisoned by some of the locals, which for them is the quickest and easiest way to deal with the stray dog problem, but is probably the nastiest, most painful fate you can ever imagine. 🥲
Luckily for Spotty, she found her way to DASH Dogs where she had her litter in safety. Her pups are all safe and rehomed, but Spotty remains in the shelter without a warm bed and a loving lap to curl up in. 🐶
As you can see, she is the sweetest, gentlest, most loyal dog - clearly with a bit of Dalmation in her - and took a real shine to one of our team, who she simply would not put down!
Do you need a loving faithful companion? Or perhaps you know of someone who might be able to offer Spotty a home?
Adoptions are (approximately) €500 - including health checks, vaccinations, passports and transportation - but the feeling you get when you watch your new furry family member explore their new home and slowly come to realise that it’s ALL THEIRS….?
